I’m very excited to be playing Orsino in a unique production of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night”.

The company’s name comes from the Greek word theatron (“seeing/watching place”) from which we get “theatre”, and their ethos is that the audience should see events and relationships that are happening on stage, rather than being represented. So we are striving to be very simple and honest in our performances.

It should be a little different from the Shakespearean productions you’ve seen before…!

About to open a two-week run of the fabulous Joe Orton farce “What the Butler Saw” at Gallery Players.

I’m playing the lead role of Dr. Prentice, the psychiatrist whose would-be misbehavior sets all the madness in motion.

It’s promising to be a very funny show! It runs September 11th to 26th in lovely Park Slope.

*UPDATE* – the show has gotten a rave review from J.Jordan at nytheatre.com: “Although his character could hardly be called the “straight” man in this comedy, David Sedgwick’s Dr. Prentice is very good at convincingly working on his feet to get himself out of jam after jam. You want to feel sorry for him but can’t, because his rapidly degenerating situation is too amusing to want to repair.”

Today is the opening of our 5-show (Fringe Festival limit) run of Glenda Frank’s new play “The Fourth Estate”.

Directed by Rebecca Hengstenberg, and with a great cast, it’s a series of four vignettes relating to journalists and the dangers and challenges they face. I’m fortunate to be in two of the four pieces, playing an American editor and an Irish editor.

So, dialects a-hoy!

Follow the link above to buy tickets. See you at the show!

*UPDATE* – glowing review on nytheatre.com: “The cast is often top-notch, particularly Dennis Gagomiros and David Sedgwick, who give exceptionally grounded, gritty performances. Sedgwick plays two seemingly similar characters equally as compelling and believable with a subtlety that gives each their own inner life.”
